Godha, directed by Basil Joseph has emerged as a clear winner at the box office. The film, so far has had a memorable ride with amazingly positive reviews pouring in for the movie. Tagged as a clean entertainer, Godha starring Tovino Thomas & Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles had a decent opening on day 1, fetching above 1.20 Crores on its opening day. Though Actor Asif Ali's recent flick Adventures Of Omanakuttan managed to receive raving reviews, it has failed to fare well at the box office. The actor took to his social networking page to mention that the film, Adventures Of Omanakuttan was not properly distributed in Kerala, which was the reason for its poor performance. He wrote that it is upsetting to see that the film which had received positive response from day 1 of its release from the public was on the verge of removal from the theatres. He also said that though the film was directed by a debutant, the popular opinion was it was an experimental movie and definitely worth a watch. Nivin Pauly - Sidhartha Siva team's political drama Sakhavu, which was released on April 15 in over 190 theaters across India, took a very good opening. Reportedly, Sakhavu becomes the biggest opener for Nivin Pauly with a gross collection of 2.48 Crores. However, the official collection report from producers is awaited. Reportedly, extra midnight shows have been added in many centers. The movie registered an above 96 percent occupancy on the opening day at Cochin multiplexes and collected over 11 lakhs from there. On May 6, the team announced that there is a change of plans because of the Rajamouli magnum opus 'Baahubali,' which is still ruling theaters of the State. The movie's director Basil Joseph wrote on his social media page, "Hello friends :) First of all thanks to each one of you for your support till now for our movie Godha , we know so many of you are waiting for it to hit the screens as soon as possible. We are also so excited to share our little baby with you all. Unfortunately on May 12th, we didn't get good theatres both in quality and numbers, especially screens with Dolby Atmos,due to the epic Baahubali." The director says the team is not embarrassed of it and have no complaints ,as they understand the effort of so many people and cost of such a movie.
