Velipadinte Pusthakamthe first film to cross Rs. 10 crore mark among Onam releases

The opening week of Malayalam Onam releases is going to end on Thursday. Four major Onam releases hit the screens last week out of which Mohanlal starrer Velipadinte Pusthakam released first as the Onam release. The family entertainer, which had released on Thursday, starred Lalettan as a college vice principal named Michael Idikkula. The film marked veteran filmmaker Lal Jose's first collaboration with Mohanlal. Produced by Mohanlal's friend and Drishyam maker Antony Perumbavoor, Velipadinte Pusthakam starred Angamaly fame Anna Reshma Rajan in the female lead.


Despite being the first Onam release, Velipadinte Pusthakam has managed to overpower all other Onam releases as far as Box Office is concerned. The Mohanlal starrer, which had grossed 5.85 crore within first two theatrical days, was rock steady on week days as well.

And now, the Mohanlal film emerged as the first film to cross the Rs. 10 crore mark among 2017's Onam releases.

By the end of 6-theatrical days Velipadinte Pusthakam had minted Rs. 11.48 crore at Box Office.
